About Nico Jaxen
Nico Jaxen is a fiction author whose stories bring together experience, imagination, and the connections between people.
Growing up in Astoria, Queens, during the 1980s gave Jaxen a deep appreciation for a time before cell phones and social media, when neighborhoods were communities, friendships happened face-to-face, and a handwritten note could carry a secret from one window to another. Those memories inspired Teenage Secrets: Notes on a String, his nostalgic story of first love, friendship, and growing up in 1980s New York.
Military service and a long career in law enforcement gave him a different perspective on people, investigations, and pressure. He draws on those years to bring authenticity to The Ghost Within the Fence Line, a psychological thriller of danger and suspicion inside a military installation.
The Small Detective brings out a warmer side of his storytelling, one rooted in family, childhood curiosity, and the bonds between generations. Through young Josie and her loyal dog, Crumb Bum, everyday discoveries become family mysteries full of clues, courage, and the special connection between grandparents and grandchildren.
The stories are fiction. The perspective behind them comes from life.
Whether the subject is teenagers coming of age in 1980s Queens, a dangerous investigation on a military base, or a young detective following clues alongside her dog, Nico Jaxen returns to what connects people: the mysteries they uncover, the relationships they build, and the stories they leave behind.
